THE CITY OF CLEVELAND — Kevin Durant has spent this season racing up the NBA record books, surpassing Hall of Famers one by one.

Durant (26,516) has passed Tim Duncan (26,496) for 15th position on the NBA’s all-time scoring list after scoring 32 points in a win over Cleveland on Monday (26,516).

Up next is Dominique Wilkins at 26,668. This season, the Nets’ star has past Alex English, Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett, John Havlicek, Paul Pierce, and now Tim Duncan, a feat he paused to appreciate.

“Unquestionably,” Durant responded. “You want to show up every day, but at some time you have to celebrate modest victories, such as a victory over the Cavaliers.” It is appropriate to celebrate with your team.

“To be able to pass an all-time great legend, someone who moved and revolutionized the game, in my career is something that I’ll call my parents about tonight and reminisce about how we got here. So it’s quite cool to do such things, and I’d like to enjoy them, but you know, keep moving forward. I am aware that I have more work to do.

With his fourth 3-pointer of the season, Durant now has 1,828 for his career. He surpassed Kobe Bryant (1,827) to take the 21st spot on the all-time list, trailing Chauncey Billups (1,830).

The Nets’ nine-game victory streak is their longest since 2005-06 and the longest active win streak in the NBA. It extended their greatest road winning run of the season to five.

In December, the Nets are an NBA-best 10-1.

Durant and Kyrie Irving have scored at least 30 points in the same game five times this season, tied for the most in the league with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Joe Harris (soreness in his left knee) remained in Brooklyn and will miss Wednesday’s contest against the Hawks. Seth Curry (illness not related to COVID) was listed as questionable on the injury report before being downgraded to out.

“Joe is neither with us, nor will he play against Atlanta. Seth isn’t a COVID. “We’ll see how he feels on Tuesday; hopefully he’ll be feeling better,” stated coach Jacque Vaughn. “Joe had an MRI, which merely revealed pain and swelling. Indeed, so remain seated and perhaps reduce the swelling
