Kenyan Public warned of online fraudsters posing as NTSA officers

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has warned the public about scammers posing as its officials on online platforms claiming to be able to provide smart driving licenses and other services.
On Tuesday, the Authority requested anyone who has been a victim of the internet scam to contact them or the nearest police station.
According to reports, the con artists have been tricking and extorting money from unsuspecting victims by promising to issue new smart driving licenses in a short period of time.
“The Public is hereby advised to be wary of individuals/ social media platforms purporting to offer Smart Driving Licenses or other NTSA services,” NTSA stated.
The public has been asked to apply for legitimate smart driving licenses, at Huduma Centres across the country, where dedicated NTSA stations have been set up.
