Tuesday, festival organizers revealed that Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, and the electronic group Odesza will headline the 2023 edition of the Governors Ball in New York.
Lil Nas X, Haim, Pusha T, and Omar Apollo will also perform at the event scheduled for June 9-11 in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens this year.
The first Gov Ball was hosted on Governors Island in 2011, but it was transferred to Randalls Island the following year, where it remained for years.
Due to Covid-19, the previous two festivals were held in the parking lot of Citi Field, the home stadium of the New York Mets baseball team.
Flushing Meadows Corona Park is a vast public park in the borough of Queens and the site of two World’s Fairs in the 20th century.
Additionally, formal footwear is making a comeback after years of sneaker domination.
A week prior, Coachella confirmed that Bad Bunny, Frank Ocean, and Blackpink would headline the California desert event, which unofficially kicks off the summer music calendar.
