Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates yet to contact Benni McCarthy

Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy has AGAIN responded to reports linking him to both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates ahead of next season.

Just a week after expressing his ambition to coach in Europe, McCarthy, speaking at the Heineken All-Invitation on Friday, labeled the reports as ‘a rumour’.

McCarthy said he’s just been reading about him possibly joining the either of the two Soweto giants but none of them has contacted him.

The 44-year-old mentor said he understands the frustrations from both Chiefs and Pirates fans because their teams aren’t where they should be in terms of success.

And McCarthy feels both Chiefs and Pirates can be up there with Mamelodi Sundowns if they bring in the right people to lead them.

BENNI MCCARTHY ADDRESSES KAIZER CHIEFS AND ORLANDO PIRATES RUMOURS

“It’s just a rumour, and just some articles spreading in the news, people making noise. I can understand the fans frustrations. You know Chiefs is a massive club, they should be in a better position to compete with Sundowns and most clubs in the league, and so is Pirates,” said McCarthy as per Prime Sports With Mahlatse.

“And they both have not done that but I’m sure the clubs are working on rectifying that, and they can come next season and compete and push Sundowns by getting the right people in, but for me, I have not been in contact by either of them. So, for me it’s just a rumour,” added McCarthy.
