The writer and filmmaker Joan Kron, who is 95 years old, has just offered her Upper East Side apartment for $1.79 million.

The apartment on the eleventh floor of 205 East 63rd Street has been her home for almost fifty years. Yet, she is not preparing to retire.

Not even close.

As a documentary filmmaker, the former Allure columnist and co-founder of the New York Times Home section is still going strong. Kron and the Documentary Group are now producing “Weapon of Beauty,” a documentary that traces the evolution of one of the world’s most lethal natural poisons into, well, a weapon of beauty.

Kron stated, “I am currently working on a documentary about the murky history of botulinum toxin, the active ingredient in Botox and its competitors.”

She also directed and produced the 2017 documentary “Take My Nose… Please,” which features Judy Gold, Jackie Hoffman, Lisa Lampanelli, and Aubrey Plaza discussing cultural pressures to be attractive.

Kron is also composing her biography, which will detail her participation in the 1960s Pop Art scene alongside Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and others.

The apartment in a postwar land-lease structure has a spacious living room with access to a terrace, a formal dining room with seating for 24 people, a breakfast area with a wet bar, and ample storage space.

The apartment also has a home office with two built-in desks, storage, and a separate door.

In 1973, Kron and her late husband moved into the building when it was a rental about to become a cooperative. It was ideal for our newly combined family of four children. Three of his children and one of mine lived with us on the weekends,” she added. “I believe we paid little less than $100,000. Each of our employment was easily accessible by foot or by public transportation. He was at Grey Advertising while I was at New York Magazine. And the room sizes were larger than those in other buildings we inspected. It turned out to be valuable. I have lived in this location for fifty years.”

Kron informs Gimme that she is relocating to Midtown, close to the Design District, in order to be closer to her family in Miami. She stated, “I’ll have my own space in the same building as my son, his wife, and their college-aged children.”

The listed agents are Corcoran’s Jane Martin and Deanna Kory.
