Jake Paul set sights on giving multiple super middleweight world champion Carl Froch a “payday”

Jake Paul plans to give multiple super middleweight world champion Carl Froch a “payday” when he finishes fighting Tommy Fury.

The YouTuber will eventually face Tyson’s younger brother in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. The pair have been verbally sparring for nearly two years, and became entangled in an incredible brawl in Dubai last November, with Paul cursing Fury from ringside during an exhibition match.

‘The Trouble Child’ has definitely gained in stature en way to a 6-0 pro boxing record, but not everyone is persuaded on the idea of influencers entering the ring. And former boxer Froch, now a pundit, has long been critical of the idea – and of Paul himself.

After boasting he could defeat both the star and his brother Logan on the same night, he recently told Boxing Social: “All I’ve ever done is answer to people asking me about fighting Jake Paul. That is all I have done. I’ve never confronted him because that would be ludicrous. And he’d never fight a professional, much less me.

“Even though I’m 45 years old and retired, he wouldn’t even consider dating someone like me. And I’m not going to take a dive either, so when he fights people, that’s definitely part of the agreement.”

The suggestion that Paul’s battles are set has elicited a vehement response from the 26-year-old, who believes ‘The Cobra’ is jealous of the money he makes. “Carl Froch mad because I made more in 1 year than he made his whole career,” he tweeted. “You want the money. “I understand.”

And he challenged Froch to a fight, but only after he’d shown he could beat one of Paul’s beaten opponents. “So let’s do it,” he said. “Fight Anderson Silva on my next card and if you get lucky and beat him, then we can walk in the ring and you make your lifetime payout. LMK.”

Last October, Paul knocked out the 47-year-old UFC great on his way to a convincing points victory. But he’s been dogged by suspicions that he’s too scared to face a real boxer.

But, Paul has promised to send Fury “back to Love Island.” next weekend. The Englishman, 23, is similarly unbeaten (8-0), but he has already withdrew from two scheduled meetings with his competitor.
