Itumeleng Khune, the goalkeeper for the Kaizer Chiefs, recorded a 4-0 loss to AmaZulu on Friday night.

Dumisani Zuma, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, and Junior Dion scored in the first half, and Bonginkosi Ntuli added the final nail in Amakhosi’s coffin in the second.

The three goals scored by AmaZulu in the first half marked the first time in Khune’s career that he has allowed that many in the first half.

HIP LEADING GOALSCORERS TO DATE

According to OptJabu, Khune has never before conceded three goals in the first half, but Chiefs did so for the fourth time in PSL history.

“I believe we put them under early pressure and put them on the back foot, but we conceded from a set piece that we should have defended better.” Then, we missed the penalty that would have altered the game’s momentum. Again, we conceded from a set piece,” Zwane remarked after the game.

“We were performing fairly well, but when our opponents made errors, we did not penalize them. We had opportunities to score; Caleb, Mshini, Duba, Dove, and Sekgota all should have scored.

Overall, we did not perform that poorly. We anticipated that they would be passive, but we failed to capitalize on our opportunity. Zwane continued, “We must improve our final third entry decision making, but we will continue to work on it until it is perfect.”
