Is Mamelodi Sundowns the most uninteresting PSL team?

As champions-elect Mamelodi Sundowns earned yet another inescapable PSL victory, we can’t shake the sensation that things are becoming somewhat monotonous. Where have you disappeared to, Kaizer Chiefs?

Is it time for a change, given that the Brazilians have won each of the last five DStv Premiership titles and six of the last seven?

You’ve heard the expression, “life is a journey, not a destination,” or something like. Currently, it seems as though everything Sundowns does is a means to an end, leading them to a predestined goal. This tale is devoid of romance, and nearly nobody is enjoying the journey, with the exception of the club’s fans, of course.

Rhulani’s squad has already won thirteen consecutive PSL matches and leads second-placed Richards Bay by 19 points. Yes, Richards Bay has an advantage of two games, but still. The Brazilians have a degree of owner investment that resembles a cheat code, and it assures that their roster is always filled with talented players. Amusing for them and their fans, but tedious for the remaining 15 clubs.

PSL Gossip: Kaizer Chiefs’ target becomes a free agent, Lorch is in the news, and Sundowns are uninteresting.

In their upcoming four matches, Sundowns will be competing in three different competitions. Their next two PSL matches will be against Sekhukhune and Orlando Pirates. Then, in the Nedbank Cup, they will face none other than Richards Bay. On February 11, their CAF Champions League group stage begins against Al-Hilal. Downs supporters will expect success on all fronts.

Richards Bay’s debut in the premier division has been a breath of fresh air. This team is aware of its limits, but is not scared to compete with the elite. There is still plenty of time left in the season, and the wheels could still fall off, but it doesn’t appear likely. It will be exciting to see how their season unfolds. The ultimate test will be their performance in their second season in the premier division.

LOL: Kaizer Chiefs paid a money to Chicken Inn for a TURKEY contract.

Possibly, the less spoken the better? Giants will continue to be giants, and their time will return. The fact that there are no real opponents to Sundowns’ PSL title has rendered this year’s competition utterly uninteresting.
