Renowned Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has addressed the reasons behind his absence from the list of awardees at the recent Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Despite his acting prowess, particularly in the movie “King of Thieves,” which received nominations, Chatta’s fans expressed their concerns as to why he was not considered a nominee.
Chatta’s Reaction and Thoughts
Speaking on a radio program, which he later reposted on his Instagram page, Chatta revealed that he was not bothered by the lack of an AMVCA nomination.
However, he expressed his curiosity as to why the organizers never extended an invitation to him.
The actor admitted feeling that his works were not deemed notable enough, despite understanding that not everyone could be nominated.
Perceived Conspiracy and Feeling Left Out
Chatta shared his thoughts, stating that he often felt excluded and questioned whether his works were worthy enough.
He mentioned observing his younger colleagues, including newcomers to Nollywood, proudly attending events in different outfits, further fueling his feelings of being left out.
The actor speculated on the possibility of a conspiracy against him.
Focusing on Craft and Ambitions
Undeterred by the lack of an AMVCA nomination, Chatta emphasized that he would not let any award prize affect his craft.
His ultimate goal is to win an Oscar before departing from this world.
The actor’s determination and ambition are focused on achieving this prestigious international recognition.
Oscar as the Target
Chatta confidently stated his belief that he will receive an Oscar before his time is up.
He expressed a desire not to allow the absence of an award to disturb his skills or work.
Instead, his focus remains on delivering exceptional performances.
The actor’s unwavering target is to attain the pinnacle of recognition in the form of an Academy Award, or an Oscar, for his contributions to the world of film.
