“I said a small prayer” – Rhulani of Sundowns on Andries

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena has extended his condolences to Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker following the passing of Oshwin Andries.

Mokwena stated that the news brought back painful memories of loosing Anele Ngcoongca and Motjeka Madisha.

Mokwena stated via iDiskiTimes, “That was sad news, and it is sad news because it reveals personal wounds that have not fully healed.”

“Perhaps even from a club viewpoint, because we lost the late Anele and Madisha, I immediately thought of Stevie Barker when I heard the news. I prayed briefly because the situation was so stressful.

“Because you spend more time with them than your family, you begin to become family inside a family framework, despite the fact that you work with them every day.

Therefore, losing a player is terrible. When you lose a brother or a blood-related relative, you cannot instruct anyone on how to cope with the loss. No one can instruct you on how to cope with a loss,” the Sundowns tactician continued.
