This one will not end in flames.

In response to last year’s horrific arson assault, Fox News ignited a massive combustible tree outside of their Midtown offices on Monday night.

During a live event presented by Greg Gutfeld, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Dana Perino, Jessica Tarlov, and Jesse Watters, the 50-foot-tall Christmas tree was revealed at Fox Square in Midtown.

A year ago, an agitated firebug burnt the 2021 tree in front of the Fox News Midtown headquarters, causing a major fire.

According to authorities, the arsonist set fire to the red, white, and blue artificial tree after “thinking about setting the tree on fire all day.”

On Monday, anchor Gutfeld said, “We will press that button to light this sucker up — and not in a negative manner.”

Craig Tamanaha, a homeless guy, lit the Fox News Christmas tree on fire in early December 2021. The tree was outside the building that houses Fox News, the New York Post, and The Wall Street Journal in a tourist-heavy neighborhood near Radio City and Rockefeller Center.

At the time, police sources informed The Post that he climbed the tree’s metal frame and torched a piece of cardboard to ignite the blaze.

The 50-foot fake tree was completely destroyed by the blaze, but no one was injured. A Fox security officer wrestled Tamanaha to the ground prior to the arrival of police and firefighters.

Tamanaha was charged with criminal mischief, risking the safety of others, and arson.

In the meanwhile, Fox News replanted a tree within two days. Last seen in court on June 10, he is thought to still be out on bond. Recently, the troublemaker was detained in New York City for exposing himself outside of the Ghislaine Maxwell trial.

Monday, the network honored FDNY and NYPD by choosing them to light this year’s Christmas tree. It is decorated with 12,000 decorations, 340,000 lights, and a six-foot-tall star.

A source revealed to The Post that this new tree is constructed of metal that is resistant to fire. There is currently no information on the other materials utilized to construct the tall wood.

Guests included members of the NYPD’s Precinct 32, who lost detectives Wilbert Mora and Jason Rivera in January, and members of EMS Station 49, who lost EMS captain Alison Russo earlier this year.

A number of Fox stars were also there, including Sean Hannity, Kellyanne Conway, Bill Hemmer, Ainsley Earhardt, Steve Doocy, Rosanna Scotto, Larry Kudlow, and Suzanne Scott, the CEO of Fox News.

Dana Perino, anchor of “America’s Newsroom” and “The Five,” told The Post, “The tree lighting is a good opportunity to say, ‘Ok, let’s take a deep breath, let’s move into the season of hope and rebirth with some pleasure and also a chance to celebrate.’”

When questioned if this new tree may be combustible, she responded, “I hope not. However, we will make every effort to ensure that nothing happens to it.

The tree may be lighted, but unlike in 2021, it will not catch fire this year. The tree lighting is hosted by Jessica Tarlow, Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, and Greg Gutfeld, along with his dog Gus.

Greg Gutfeld’s new dog Gus is petted by Dana Perino as they prepare to ignite the 2022 Fox News Christmas tree.

All we want for Christmas is a tree that is flame-resistant.

She said, “However, I am confident that if this were to occur again, we would rally as we did last year and have the tree re-erected within 48 hours.”
