Monday, January 31, 2022 – Kirinyaga Woman Representative, Purity Ngirici, has finally revealed the presidential candidate she will support during the August 9th Presidential election.
The high-stakes presidential election is turning out to be a two-horse race between former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.
Late last year, Ngirici ditched Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and said she will vie for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate.
Immediately after dumping UDA, speculations were rife that Ngirici had joined Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja Movement.
But speaking in Kirinyaga County on Monday, Ngirici dismissed claims that she had joined Azimio La Umoja and said she is still number one lieutenant of DP Ruto.
Ngirici further said despite vying as an independent candidate, Ruto remains to be her mentor and there are no plans to humiliate him, unlike our other Kieleweke MPs who are jumping up and down throwing insults to the second in command.
