Ex-girlfriend of Ryan Giggs said she wouldn’t leave their ‘violent’ relationship ‘with nothing’

Ex-girlfriend of Ryan Giggs said she wouldn’t leave their ‘violent’ relationship ‘with nothing’

Ryan Giggs’ ex-girlfriend told a pal she wouldn’t leave their ‘violent’ relationship ‘with nothing,’ jurors heard today.

Chris Daw QC, Giggs’ lawyer, questioned Kate Greville: ‘Did you warn your pal you weren’t going to walk away from him empty-handed?’

Yes, replied Ms Greville. The PR professional claimed she wasn’t seeking compensation from the Welshman. She denied demanding damages from the 48-year-old.

She told jurors the former football star preyed on her ‘vulnerability’ and ruined her relationships with friends and family.

Ms. Greville claimed Giggs was sometimes affectionate but sometimes ‘aggressive’ and violent.

Ms Greville told Manchester Crown Court she became ‘a slave to his every desire and demand’

She assured the court she’d do anything Giggs asked. “He made me feel I had to do what he said or face penalties,” she added.

‘He harmed my friendships and alienated me,’ she claimed of him. He hurt my family’s relations.

She claimed, “It wasn’t persistent violence, he wasn’t consistently aggressive, but he was violent at times.”

She remarked, “I’m highly interested psychology, so when Ryan made me feel weird and worried, I researched it.” What I was experiencing was narcissistic personality disorder.

She said, ‘I have a 12-week-old kid, I don’t have time to read’

Ms Greville said yesterday that Giggs told her she ‘didn’t deserve to be a parent’ during a heated argument.

She claimed the court the ex-Manchester united player ‘deliberately headbutted’ her during an argument at his £1.7million Worsley property in 2020.

Ms Greville, 36, cried as she spoke of the former Wales manager, ‘He headbutted me from nowhere.’

‘When I fell, my lip swelled. I covered my lips and tasted blood.

Ms. Greville’s 105-minute interview with investigators in November 2020 was played in court yesterday. Giggs is also accused of assaulting Ms. Greville’s sister, Emma.

Giggs had eight ‘full-on’ relationships during his ‘toxic’ six-year on-off relationship with Greville, the court heard.

The PR professional told jurors she tried to leave the former Manchester United and Wales player over his alleged flings and ‘controlling’ behaviour.

Giggs ‘bombarded’ her with 50 texts an hour and threatened her career.

When she stopped responding, he travelled to Dubai to tell her, “Let’s make a family, you’re the only one I want.”

Ms Greville continued: ‘When he returned home, I discovered he was dating another female. I was heartbroken.

She alleges he denied it, stating the lady had a partner, and pushed her to relocate to Manchester and conceive a kid.

Giggs pushed his then-girlfriend out of a hotel room while she was nude and hurled a laptop at her head, the court heard.

Ms Greville claimed the former Wales winger ‘randomly’ sent her a nude picture, that she worried he may post’something truly intimate’ on a work WhatsApp group, and that he would call her by the name of his ex-wife, Stacey, as his ‘final insult’

She told jurors Giggs treated her ‘like his housemaid or his mom,’ telling her she was stacking the dishwasher wrong, making the beds wrong, or complained ‘if his tea wasn’t ready on time’

Giggs is accused of controlling and coercive behaviour between August 2017 and November 2020.

He’s also accused of attacking Greville and Emma. In Manchester Crown Court, he rejects all charges.

Ms. Greville told Manchester Crown Court yesterday that Giggs ‘came at me from nowhere’ after a confrontation about her uncovering proof of eight alleged relationships on his iPad.

Ms Greville claimed her lip ‘instantly swelled’ during the assault at his house in Worsley, Greater Manchester, in November 2020, and she felt she had broken her elbow when he pushed her to the floor in their utility room as he attempted to take her phone.

Ms Greville said Giggs walked into the kitchen and refused to return her phone.

She added, “I’m delighted the cops are coming because you assaulted me, and I’ll tell them everything.”

He headbutted me then. He grabbed me by the shoulders and headbutted me. “I can’t believe you did that!”

‘I went backwards in amazement, my lip swelled, and I believed he had split it open since I could taste blood.

‘He had injured me before, but this time he stared me in the eyes and headbutted me.’

After calling police, she claimed Giggs urged her, ‘You need to think about this Kate, this may destroy me and you.’

Ms Greville told jurors Giggs’meant’ to injure her and that the alleged assault was different from prior times he attacked her.

She recalled: ‘He stated the police had been contacted, were on their way, and he was going to tell them I assaulted him and am a maniac.’

His anger was cocky. He baited me. We went to the kitchen. I grabbed my phone.

I told him, “I’m delighted the cops are coming since you assaulted me. I’ll tell them everything.”

‘Then he headbutted me. He grabbed me by the shoulders and headbutted me.

‘He didn’t apologise; he said nothing. “I can’t believe you did that!” I was shocked, fell backwards, and my lip swelled.

I covered my lips and tasted blood. This time he injured me, he intended to. He stared me down and headbutted me.

He warned her, “This might wreck me and you.”

He responded, “Think about my work, my career, my kids,” and I said, “You shouldn’t have done that.”

Giggs had eight ‘full-on’ relationships during his six-year on-off relationship with Kate Greville, the court heard.

The PR consultant, 36, discovered the finding after accessing the football star’s iPad, she informed police.

She claims Giggs ‘dragged’ her out of a five-star hotel room, leaving her nude in the hallway, after she accused him of’manically’ flirting with other women.

Manchester Crown Court heard he hurled her laptop bag at her head, causing a’massive lump’

Giggs ‘bombarded’ her with up to 50 texts an hour and threatened to destroy her career when she tried to leave him over his alleged flings and ‘controlling’ behaviour, she said.

She accessed his iPad because she ‘wanted to know the truth’ She claimed his adultery was ‘worse than I could fathom’

Giggs had ‘full-on relationships’ with eight women during his time with Ms Greville, who found he texted a friend: ‘Just need the bars to open so I can pull some cl**ge’

Ms Greville told police in a video aired at Minshull Street Court that she discovered his adultery on his iPad before leaving him.

She alleged she spotted texts calling her a’sl*g’ and a’silly cow’ on Giggs’ Apple iPad.

Ms Greville allegedly claimed Mr Giggs responded, “Just need the bars to open so I can pull some cl**ge.”

She was interrogated by cops weeks after claiming Giggs headbutted her at his house. Giggs denied cheating, but she ‘wanted to know the truth’ so she examined his phone.

“What I discovered on that iPad was worse than I imagined,” she stated. Eight ladies when we were together. Full-fledged partnerships.

Ms Greville said she’d leave him while he managed Wales and move into a new apartment.

She answered, “It was written down.” If I asked, he’d deny it. After four weeks of knowing he was leaving to manage Wales, I made plans to depart.

I found a new apartment and drafted a letter I never sent. I knew if I addressed him, he’d explode. I created a plan to leave and waited three weeks, which killed me. I had to take charge.

Despite her allegations she was seeing eight other women, Ms Greville said Ryan Giggs constantly accused her of cheating and ‘being with other guys’

Giggs, who was in the dock, texted her: ‘Are you going to be a nice girl?’ She told the jurors, ‘If I didn’t do what he asked, wasn’t a good girl as he termed it, and didn’t give him bother, he would become upset and be mean to me.’

Yesterday, the court saw her interview with police in 2020, where she broke down as she described how Ryan Giggs twice ‘dragged’ her out of a hotel room and dumped her in the corridor naked in rows over him texting and flirting with women. On one occasion, he allegedly kicked her in the back and threw a laptop at her head.

Kate Greville told the court that she banned Giggs on social media after learning he was dating Zara Charles.

Ms. Greville claimed she was’scared’ when Giggs ‘threatened’ to write about her to a work WhatsApp group. she told the court. He lacked logic.

She feared Giggs would publish something personal to shame and humiliate her.

Greville believed Giggs would “ruin her career.”

Giggs threatened to ask a work WhatsApp group whether she was dating Rob.

Ms. Greville was’mortified’

Mr Greville said that Giggs kicked him so hard in a London hotel room that he fell off the bed. She alleges he pulled her nude inside the apartment.

She told officers Giggs threw her laptop bag at her head, locked her out of the hotel room, then allowed her back in 10 minutes later before having intercourse.

Greville told police it occurred after she accused Giggs of flirting with other women. She said, “Did he do that to make me jealous?” He ignored me and spoke to others. He wooed my pals.

She claimed he asked if her flirting ‘bothered’ her. She later claimed Giggs told her it was ‘over’ and she should apologise.

She claimed, “I apologised because he made me feel so horrible.”

After questioning him about the alleged back tossing, she said Giggs answered, “Yeah, because you accused me of flirting.”

You made me do it. He didn’t say you deserved it. I felt guilty’

In Abu Dhabi, she questioned him, “Are you texting a girl?” She alleged Giggs kicked her out while she was nude and stated: ‘He flipped, walked straight up to my face, and yelled ‘how f***ing dare you, it’s my daughter.’ We’re finished’

He grabbed me by the wrist and brought me to the lounge. She claimed, ‘He tossed all my belongings, including my makeup, in the hallway and slammed the door.

Ms Greville said police she met Giggs in 2013 while working for a PR agency where he was a client.

She was married when Giggs was married to Stacey. Her mother asked her to autograph a blouse, she said.

Ms Greville told police she left her husband after falling in love with her’soulmate’ and ‘best friend’ Giggs before’red flags’ emerged and he called her a ‘whore’ and accused her of ‘f***ing someone else’ if she didn’t see him.

She alleged Giggs made her feel ‘paranoid’ and ‘like a maniac’ when she confronted him about recurrent romances, saying he had two other girlfriends behind her back.

He labelled her ‘weak’ for believing it when she questioned him.

She said he inundated her with sexual texts, images, and threats to reveal graphic footage of them.

She claimed, “He’d come to my place in the morning for sex; it seemed like he was exploiting me.”

He never stopped wanting sex with me.

He slept at my place, then flew to Barcelona with another girl.

‘He’d say, ‘You’re abusive, this won’t work,’ then send me naughty pictures.

I’d receive nasty texts if I didn’t react to him. He emailed me a video of what we’d done with the subject line “blackmail.”

He’d say, ‘If you don’t respond, I’ll send these messages’

Giggs ‘did this subtle gaslighting thing’ and ‘constantly criticised’ her, including how she loaded the dishwasher and made the bed, she told police.

‘It was like I was a housemaid, I was his staff member’

Giggs left her at a Dubai restaurant after she urged him to put down his phone, she alleged.

She added, “I was disturbed; I don’t understand.” I cried at my friend’s house because I didn’t want to go back to the hotel.

The following day, she stated an unidentified male emailed her a nude photo of Mr. Giggs from his wife’s phone.

Ms. Greville added, “He said, “Is it him?” I knew it was him, but he didn’t tell me. He has kids and didn’t want a riot.

When you witness something shocking, it’s not pleasant. That’s when I realised he may not be who I thought.

I challenged him, and he attempted to make up a story.

He ultimately told me who it was, and she’s married and claimed she discovered it on her phone.

‘It was the beginning of a pattern: he’d do something awful, I’d accuse him, and he’d become violent and ugly with me. The nice Ryan from before returned.

It created a push-pull, he’d do something bad but be nice to me, but it wouldn’t last long and he’d go back to himself.’

Ms Greville said she was also messaged by another woman saying she was in a relationship with Giggs.

She said: ‘At the time I had been naive… I still felt he was my world and we had a future and wanted to have a family…

When I discovered that it was like a rug had been yanked beneath my feet and I didn’t want to continue on longer.

‘After everything I’d been through, I never thought so. I was ignorant and foolish…

When I received the email and realised he wasn’t my closest friend and soulmate, I battled a lot.

I worked for him, but he wouldn’t leave me alone. I’d message him s***. I gambled. He’d say, “I’m your boss, don’t talk to me like that,” and accuse me of being abusive.

He sent me naughty pictures after I said, ‘That’s it, I’m done with you.’

The alleged victim stated they still had dinner and sex after four months.

She alleged Mr. Giggs would threaten her employment and send her an email with a video titled “Blackmail.”

She stated, “(Giggs) said, ‘I’ll send these texts so others know what you’ve been doing.’”

Ms Greville stated she erased the video because it may be sexual.

Fear made me unlock him. He constantly messaged my pals for sex. He didn’t push himself on me, he used sex to get to me.

‘He believed I was dating and bombarded me. He replied, “You’re done, wrecked” Four months of abuse, quiet, or sexual imagery. He made me feel like he was threatening my job, so I scared he’d damage my career.

Kate worked for a PR agency hired by one of Giggs’ businesses and they first met in 2013. She claimed, ‘Over a year, two years, I began to see he had a strong interest in me.’

In 2016, they began an affair and she left her husband after two months, saying he’saved her’ and their connection was’more than sexual’

He called me his soulmate. Hours passed. She informed a police officer that he would say she was ‘f****** someone else’ and label her a ‘whore’ when she didn’t reply to messages or see him.

When the affair was revealed in May 2016, they parted up because Giggs hadn’t left Stacey.

She relocated to Abu Dhabi, but Giggs ‘continued chasing and contacting me’, she added, and his wife and daughter sent her ‘nasty texts’

She tells the police she learned Giggs hadn’t left his family home, so she blocked him ‘on everything’

But when he messaged her up to 30 times a day, she discovered he was seeing another lady. Ms. Greville was “devastated.”

She told police Giggs ‘flipped’ in 2017 when she called him a cheater. Giggs told her, ‘You made me do this…’ I don’t want you anymore’ and dumped her naked in the hallway with her belongings. Detectives said she was ‘dragged’ by the wrist.

After his arrest in June, Giggs resigned as Wales manager.

Ms. Greville was employed by PR agency Tangerine and Giggs’ business, GG Hospitality, throughout the alleged controlling time.

Chris Daw QC, Giggs’ lawyer, claimed his client promoted her professional goals and introduced most of her customers when she started up her own firm and made six figures.

Ms Greville was ‘always financially independent’ and able to travel and meet friends, he added.

Giggs resigned in June after being on vacation since November 2020.

Manchester United won 13 Premier League crowns, 2 Champions League trophies, 4 FA Cups, and 3 League Cups during his tenure.

He’s co-owner of League Two’s Salford City and has 64 Wales caps.

Giggs met Greville when she promoted his Hotel Football venue with Gary Neville.

In December 2017, he divorced Stacey. Zara Charles, 33, has’supported’ Giggs through the allegations.
