“Everything Everywhere All at Once” received the most Oscar nominations with eleven

The sci-fi indie sensation “Everything Everywhere All at Once” dominated this year’s Oscar nominations, but Hollywood heaped honors on big-screen spectacles such as “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Avatar: The Way of Water” a year after a streaming service won best picture for the first time.

On Tuesday, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” by Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan received the most nominations with 11.

“All Quiet on the Western Front” “Avatar: The Way of Water” “The Banshees of Inisherin” “Elvis” “Everything Everywhere All at Once” “The Fabelmans” “Tár” “Top Gun: Maverick” “Triangle of Sadness” and “Women Talking.” are nominated for best film.

Ana de Armas (“Blonde”), Cate Blanchett (“Tár”), Andrea Riseborough (“To Leslie”), Michelle Williams (“The Fabelmans”), and Michelle Yeoh (“Everything Everywhere All at Once.”) are nominated for best actress.

Brendan Fraser (“The Whale”), Colin Farrell (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), Austin Butler (“Elvis”), Bill Nighy (“Living”), and Paul Mescal (“Aftersun.”) are nominated for best actor.

Angela Bassett (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”), Hong Chau (“The Whale”), Kerry Condon (“Banshees of Inisherin”), Jamie Lee Curtis (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), and Stephanie Hsu (“Everything Everywhere All at Once.”) are nominated for best supporting actress.

Best supporting actor nominees include Brian Tyree Henry (“Causeway”), Judd Hirsch (“The Fabelmans”), Brendan Gleeson (“Banshees on Inisherin”), Barry Keoghan (“Banshees of Inisherin”), and Ke Huy Quan (“Everything Everywhere All at Once.”).

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” “Banshees of Inisherin” “The Fabelmans” “Tár” and “Triangle of Sadness.” are the films nominated for best original script.

“The Fabelmans” won the Golden Globe for best motion picture drama, while “Banshees of Inisherin” won for best motion film comedy or musical. Spielberg also won the prize for best director.

Blanchett received the award for her performance in “Tár” while Yeoh won for “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

The honors for best actor awarded to Butler for his role in “Elvis” and Farrell for “Banshees of Inisherin.”

Bassett won the Golden Globe for best actress in a supporting role in a motion picture, becoming the first Marvel character to win a major prize. Quan got the prize for best supporting actor for “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

The ceremony celebrating cinematic excellence is slated for March 12.
