Deontay Wilder, Jake Paul, and a probable British heavyweight bout are among 2022’s 12 most-anticipated fights

Boxing match: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn

Boxing between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn.

The date is October 8.

The O2 Arena is located in London.

DAZN PPV is a broadcaster.

Why view it: The sons of legendary boxers Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn will continue their family feud in one of the biggest boxing events Britain has to offer, as Chris Eubank Jr. will fight Conor Benn at 157 pounds.

Benn is one of the most improved British fighters over the past five years, and his promoter Matchroom and broadcaster DAZN have identified him as a potential superstar.

However, a bright future could be jeopardized if Eubank wins what would undoubtedly be a fierce battle in front of a boisterous crowd.

Date: 15 October

New York City’s Barclays Center is the venue.

Fox Sports PPV is the broadcaster.

Why view it: Deontay Wilder is one of the greatest knockout artists in boxing history and possibly the most powerful puncher in all combat sports.

In October, he returns to the ring hoping to rebound from consecutive losses to Tyson Fury.

Those close to Wilder told Insider that they’re hoping for a highlight-reel finish so the heavyweight reestablishes himself at or near the top of the division, where he’ll face Andy Ruiz Jr. and Oleksandr Usyk in upcoming bouts.

Claressa Shields vs. Savannah Marshall — boxing

Date: 15 October

The O2 Arena is located in London.

ESPN+ in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.

Why view it: In recent months, interest in a world championship unification bout between gold medalist Claressa Shields of the United States and rising British star Savannah Marshall has skyrocketed, culminating in a viral video that appeared to show Shields trash talking her opponent in such a personal manner that Marshall didn’t appear to know what to say or do.

Due to the death of the Queen of England on September 8, the performance has been postponed from its original date of September 12 to October 15, where Marshall hopes to have the last word.

Boxxer introduced an elite co-main event to the card, pitting American superstars Alycia Baumgardner and Mikaela Mayer against each other.

Three promoters, Mick Hennessy, Dmitriy Salita, and Benjamin Shalom, collaborated to produce this historic, 11-fight, all-women card, which might easily become the most important women’s boxing event ever.

Devin Haney vs. George Kambosos – boxing

Devin Haney.

Date: October sixteen

Venue: Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne.

ESPN+ is the broadcasting company.

Why view it: One of the top boxers in the United States, Devin Haney is a generational talent.

In June, he traveled to Australia to defeat George Kambosos and brought all of the world’s main lightweight titles back to the United States.

Due to contractual commitments, he must repeat the entire match.

Expect Haney to be partnered with other monsters on Top Rank’s lightweight and super lightweight squads, including as Shakur Stevenson, Vasiliy Lomachenko, and Teofimo Lopez, if he remains as successful as he was earlier this year.

Mixed martial arts between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev

The date is October 22.

Venue: Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

ESPN PPV is a broadcaster.

Why view it: Islam Makhachev, a protégé of Khabib Nurmagomedov, will fly to the United Arab Emirates in mid-October to challenge Charles Oliveira for the UFC lightweight championship.

Makhachev, who has not been defeated since a 2015 knockout loss to Adriano Martins, comes into the fight riding a 10-bout winning streak that includes victories over Drew Dober, Dan Hooker, and Bobby Green.

Oliveira, 32, has not suffered a defeat since 2017 and has defeated a who’s who of elite lightweights, including Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje.

Triumph at the Etihad Arena might be the defining victory of their individual careers for both combatants.

Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva – boxing

The date is October 29.

Venue: Gila River Arena, Glendale, Arizona.

Showtime PPV is a broadcaster.

Why view it: Jake Paul is one of the most recognizable faces in boxing, like it or not. And he has recently sought out challenges that could silence even his most vocal detractors.

By wishing to face Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr., Paul would have been in position to earn the biggest win of his career against a legitimate professional boxer, something he has not yet accomplished.

However, both of these competitors withdrew for their own reasons, leaving the content creator disappointed and searching for alternatives. Unbeknownst to us, he would seek something even larger.

Paul faces Anderson Silva, one of the best mixed martial artists of all time, who has an illustrious record of hand-to-hand victories and is regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time. Silva has his own professional boxing record.

It is possible that Jake Paul will lose or be defeated in this match. If you want to see Jake Paul earn the most meaningful victory of his career, it’s possible.

Kenshiro Teraji vs. Hiroto Kyoguchi — boxing

Date: November 1.

Venue: Saitama Super Arena, Saitama.

ESPN+ is the broadcasting company.

Why view it: Japan has one of the richest combat sports traditions in the world, and if you are a fan of professional face-punching, there is a packed midweek card going place at the beginning of November that you must attend.

Kenshiro Teraji and Hiroto Kyoguchi each possess a piece of the world light flyweight title, making their main event a monumental unification bout.

Their bout is the main event on a show that also includes Junto Nakatani versus Francisco Rodriguez and Shuichiro Yoshino versus Masayoshi Nakatani.

Boxing between Dmitry Bivol and Gilberto Ramirez

Date: November 5.

Venue: Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi.

The broadcaster is DAZN.

Why view it: Insider ranks Dmitry Bivol as one of the finest boxers currently active based on his weight class.

In May, Bivol befuddled Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez with feints and triple jabs, and now he returns to the ring to defend his WBA light heavyweight title in another elite bout.

Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez, the opponent, has a number of physical advantages over Bivol and may prove to be a more formidable opponent than Canelo was.

Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira – mixed martial arts

Israel Adesanya celebrates a victory.

Date: November 12.

Madison Square Garden is located in New York City.

ESPN PPV is a broadcaster.

Why view it: Israel Adesanya has been one of the top UFC fighters for years, and despite one unsuccessful attempt in the light heavyweight division, he has never been defeated in the middleweight division.

Alex Pereira, who has two kickboxing wins against Adesanya, will challenge him on November 12 for the UFC middleweight championship.

Given that Pereira is one of the few individuals who have ever knocked out Adesanya, there is a natural rivalry here.

Pereira’s blows have genuine knockout power, and he has the potential to challenge Adesanya at 185 pounds.

UFC 281 also offers a fantastic lightweight contest between American lightweights Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler, as well as additional must-see fights involving Zhang Weili, Dan Hooker, and Molly McCann.

The rumored date is November 19, per insider sources.

The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, according to various reports.

Unannounced broadcaster, but presumably Showtime PPV.

Why view it: Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford are two of the best American fighters, and this battle would likely determine the top boxer in the entire sport.

According to an insider, this fight is nearing completion, and organizers anticipate a large boxing event to be the venue for this bout. As with Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor, and Manny Pacquiao, it is hoped that a bout of this importance will break through into the mainstream athletic consciousness.

This battle, if it occurs, would surely be one of the most significant combat sports events of the year.

Speculative boxing bout between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia

Possibly prior to the close of 2022.

Venue: To be determined.

Undetermined transmission source.

Why view it: Though less certain than the potential Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford battle, there are rumors that organizers are working on a mega-fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia.

Davis, with his Wilder-like knockout power and underappreciated boxing savvy, is a must-see draw because to Mayweather Promotions’ nationwide exposure.

Garcia, meanwhile, has a fan-pleasing approach and is rarely, if ever, involved in a dull fight.

A bout between them, which would pit two young, unbeaten boxers against one another, would be nothing short of spectacular.

Speculative boxing match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are boxers.

Date: December … if it happens.

Location: England

Undetermined transmission source.

Why view it: Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Joe Joyce, Dillian Whyte, and Frazer Clarke reside in the United Kingdom, where the heavyweight division is thriving more than anywhere else.

The match between Fury and Joshua has been rumored for years, and despite Joshua’s two-fight losing streak, there is still significant interest in this bout.

It would undoubtedly shatter all box office records in Britain.
