David Kowal, aged 38, has filed a lawsuit against the NSW Police, citing discrimination, bullying, and emotional hardship in respect to his wife and their pole-dancing girlfriend.

In February of 2017, he wed chiropractor Loren Kowal, and in 2019, they created a “throuple” with the inclusion of pole-dancing boxer Alana Dean.

Mr. Kowal, who worked in sex-related offenses on public transportation, claims he was removed from cases without explanation after discovering he had two lovers.

In addition, he said he was subjected to “considerable harassment” in the NSW police force, and he acknowledged to having a “meltdown” at work and being unable to return.

Evan Griffith, a partner at Firth’s the Compensation Lawyers, stated that the respected police officer’s claimed harassment by his client was the ‘last straw’.

Mr. Griffith told Daily Mail Australia, “It has been stated that David had an exemplary record with the NSW Police previous to reporting his polyamorous relationship to them, but things quickly deteriorated afterward.”

In light of David’s exposure to numerous horrific occurrences during the course of his career, this was effectively the “final straw” for him, and he now suffers from a pervasive psychological injury.

Ms. Kowal asserted that her husband was so traumatized by the problems with his employment that he is currently unable of having sex or having children.

She stated that the ‘abuse’ he endured at work hindered his ability to engage in “normal everyday activities,” including romantic relationships.

She told The Oz that the poor timing of David’s mental health issues had a significant impact on the sexual aspect of their relationship.

Mr. Kowal asserted that he “would not be here today” if not for the two women in his life.

He stated, “It’s been quite a hardship to get around and be normal.”

Ms. Kowal stated that her husband is unable to have sexual relations due to the harassment he has endured. He stated, “I wouldn’t be here today without Loren and Alana” (Pictured, Loren and David Kowal) After divulging his relationship status, Mr. Kowal claims he was immediately treated differently at work.

‘During the course of our connection, I was summoned to a conference with senior officials and requested to divulge my relationship status,’ he explained.

I never noticed any problems with it, so I assumed it has no effect on you. I feel that what I do speaks for itself. However, once I announced my relationship, my treatment at work changed immediately.’

Mr. Kowal stated that he still does not understand why he was removed from sex-related matters.

‘I was removed from (those cases) almost immediately after higher officials discovered my relationship,’ he added.

There was no explanation of why. I was the one performing the most of the work, but I was removed from the team.’ The team was under increased pressure from higher-ups to solve a large number of sexual offenses on the network, but I was the one doing the most of the work.

The District Court will begin hearing Mr. Kowal’s case on February 4.

NSW Police declined to comment.
