Conor McGregor has apparently responded to Liam Neeson’s shocking description of him as a “little leprechaun.”

The 70-year-old “Taken” actor weighed in on the UFC star, telling Men’s Health that the outspoken fighter “destroys Ireland’s reputation.”

While McGregor, 34, did not directly answer to Neeson, he took to Twitter to share a kindred idea, tweeting “Irish proud – always” with an image of the Ireland flag.

Thursday during his interview with the magazine, Neeson made his views on McGregor and the UFC quite plain.

The actor stated, “That little leprechaun Conor McGregor gives Ireland a bad name.” “I recognize that he is physically fit, and I admire him for that. However, I can’t take it.”

Irish pride is permanent.

Neeson further stated that he “can’t stand” the UFC, comparing it to a “bar fight.”

“I am aware that the practitioners would say, ‘No, you’re mistaken; the months of training we through…’ Why don’t you simply grab a beer bottle and hit the other one over the head? This is the next level of the UFC. I detest it.”

Just days before Dana White confirmed McGregor’s comeback to the ring, Neeson made his frank statements.

After coaching against each other on the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” the Irishman will battle Michael Chandler in their next bout.

White stated that the date and location of the bout will be announced “soon.” However, he did not specify a date or location. Most likely, the fight will take place at 170 pounds.

This will be McGregor’s first octagon encounter since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July of 2021. Since moving over from Bellator in 2021, Chandler is 2-3.

Despite his break from fighting, the 34-year-old McGregor has been in the press almost frequently. Last week, he reported on Instagram that he was injured by a car while cycling.

McGregor stated in the footage, “I could have been killed there, mate, look,” referring to a previous incident.

In January, McGregor was also accused of assaulting a lady on his yacht in Spain last summer. The anonymous woman reportedly told Irish police that she feared for her life and was kicked and punched in the face by the suspect. In addition, she claimed he threatened to drown her.

McGregor, through a representative, refuted the allegations.
