An ex-soldier scaled his garden fence to gain access to his neighbors’ property, where he fatally killed them with his ceremonial military dagger.

Collin Reeves, an ex-commando, is on trial at Bristol Crown Court, denying the murders of Jennifer Chapple, 33, and her teacher husband Stephen, 36, on November 21 last year.

Reeves claims he was suffering from a mental illness at the time of the murders at Norton Fitzwarren, Somerset, and has admitted manslaughter on the basis of diminished responsibility.

In Dragon Rise, Reeves is seen calmly stepping over the fence and into the home next door to murder the couple.

He then closes the door behind him and returns home by climbing back over the fence.

Avon and Somerset Police have published the video that was given to the jury.

Extra film was provided to the jury but not released publicly, which included loud screams from the victims and Reeves saying “death you f*s, die.”

Reeves and the couple had been in a long-running feud over allotted parking on the new-build house estate.

On November 11 of last year, just ten days before the killings, Reeves allegedly verbally abused Mrs Chapple outside her home after an earlier discussion between the victim and Reeves’ wife Kayley Reeves.

A video of the altercation was also provided by the police.

In the months preceding up to the killings, there were multiple flashpoints over the topic, but prosecutors claimed this was the’most significant.’

When she returns home, Reeves is seen racing towards her house, accusing her of “f***ing gobbing off” and calling her a “cheeky little b***h.”

Prosecutor Adam Feest said he called her a ‘fat b***h’ and a ‘f** c***’ in a ‘angry and aggressive tone.’

‘You get a feel of the tone, as well as the level and type of the relationship,’ he added.

A video of Reeves’ 999 call, recorded minutes after the incident, was also shown to the jury.

The operator mistaken him for the injured individual at one point, asking if he was hurt before telling him, “I walked around with a knife, I stabbed both of them.”

‘I don’t think they were awake when I left,’ he said when asked if the pair was awake when he left.

‘He was on the floor, and she was on the couch.’

The couple’s children were still asleep upstairs at the house when authorities arrived.

Lynn Reeves, Reeves’ mother, said her son is a “closed book” who “never discusses his emotions” in a filmed police interview shown before jurors earlier.

He served in the Army from 2002 to 2017, including in Afghanistan, but she claims he never talked about what he witnessed there.

Reeves appeared to be battling with his mental health following his return from Afghanistan, according to reports.
