Cardiff City FC latest news: Lamouchi calls on players to show more fight and start to earn points from losing positions

Rubin Colwill has been dropped from the senior Welsh squad, but included in Matty Jones’ 24-man under-21 squad to take on Scotland in a friendly later this month.

Colwill has struggled for game time this season due to injury and falling out of favour under new manager Sabri Lamouchi. Speaking about Colwill’s omission, Rob Page said that he is a talented player who is still growing, and added that they need to be sympathetic with his development and to keep him involved in the Welsh way.

Page further said that Colwill can take inspiration from Harry Wilson, who had a couple of games with the under-21s and was the best trainer, and that Colwill should show why he’s been a part of the first team for the last couple of years.

Cardiff City manager, Sabri Lamouchi, has called on his players to show more fight and start to earn points from losing positions. He said that since he took over, every game in which Cardiff City have gone behind, they have lost, and every game in which they have taken the lead, they have won.

He wants to see more dogged aggression in the face of adversity when his teams go behind, and believes that the Championship requires players to fight until the end and give nothing to the opponent.

Lamouchi added that the season is difficult, but they can just believe in themselves a little bit more and together they will be stronger.

Former midfielder-turned-pundit David Prutton believes that West Brom will run out winners against Cardiff City at Cardiff City Stadium, and predicted a 1-0 win to the Midlands side.

He added that Cardiff City is being helped a lot right now by how inept the three teams below them are, and that it is keeping them above the line in the relegation battle even when they aren’t picking up points.

Cardiff City come into the game amid a mixed run of form, winning three and losing two of their last five matches, while the Baggies are firmly in the play-off race coming off the back of consecutive wins.
