Cameron Waters dies before completing family’s dream house

A father of two who was in the middle of constructing his family’s dream home was sadly killed in a motorcycle accident.

When the event occurred, 33-year-old Cameron Waters was “in his happy spot of riding his motorcycle” in Big Desert, a rural community more than 450 kilometres (km) west of Melbourne’s central business district, near the South Australian border.

Just before 4.30 p.m. on Friday, emergency services were dispatched to Murrayville-Nhill Road near Brushcutters Track in response to allegations that Mr. Waters had collided with a vehicle.

Mr. Waters, a Kilsyth resident, passed away there.

In a GoFundMe campaign on Monday, longtime friend Lisa Tisuno referred to the young parent as the “calmest human who has ever walked the world” with a “happy-go-lucky” demeanour.

The terrible circumstances surrounding Cameron Waters’ death devastated Ms. Tisuno’s heart, she wrote.

The fund, dubbed “keeping Cam’s dream alive,” was established, according to Ms. Tisuno, to assist Cam’s 14-year girlfriend Natalie Upjohn, his son Tommy, 4, and daughter Billie, 2, as well as to aid in the completion of the family’s farmhouse.

Cam was sadly killed while enjoying his favourite activity—riding his motorcycle, according to Ms. Tisuno.

Cam’s desire was for his children to live in their partially finished home.

Some of the money will go toward realising his goal so that Nat and the children may create memories in the precise location that Cam had in mind.

This GoFundMe is for anybody who wants to help, even if it’s not expected, by providing financial assistance.

The remaining money are designated to be used for Tommy and Billie’s education since Mr. Waters and Ms. Upjohn, a teacher at a neighbouring school, placed a high importance on their children’s education.

145 contributions totaling $20,355 have been made to the fund, which is aiming to reach $50,000.

Along with his siblings and their spouses, Mr. Walter’s grieving parents, Bruce and Johanne, have committed to honour their son’s legacy.

The precise reason of the collision is still being looked into.

Police have verified that the car’s driver, a 32-year-old male from Carina, was unharmed.

Anyone who may have dashcam video or information is invited to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-333-TIPS or file a private report online.
