A poll indicates that King Charles’ popularity has increased since he succeeded Queen Elizabeth as Britain’s ruler, but those who mourn his late mother caution him to follow her example and keep his opinions to himself.

A YouGov survey conducted for the Times newspaper revealed that support for Charles, 73, had significantly increased since he became king, compared to polls conducted earlier this year. Similarly, support for his wife Camilla, the Queen Consort, increased.

Now 63% feel he will be a good king, up 24 percentage points since March, while 15% say he will perform poorly, down from 31% six months ago, according to a poll released on Tuesday.

The findings corroborated the sentiments of mourning Britons with whom Reuters interviewed.

Patrick Thompson, 61, who was among the hundreds that waited in line to view the late queen’s coffin at Edinburgh’s St Giles Cathedral, stated, “I have every expectation that he will do exceptionally well.”

He was ahead of his time on issues such as climate change, but now he must be considerably more circumspect in his speech.

The coffin of Queen Elizabeth will be flown to London on Tuesday, following a 24-hour repose at the medieval cathedral of Edinburgh, where her son King Charles and his three siblings conducted a peaceful vigil.

Charles was joined by his sister Anne and brothers Andrew and Edward for the 10-minute vigil at St. Giles’ Cathedral on Monday, when they stood with their heads bent at the four corners of the coffin while members of the public paid their respects.

While a piper lament was the sole sound earlier in the day as kilted soldiers carried the casket, the four royals left the vigil in the dark to the sound of cheers from mourners lining the roadway.

Marie Claire Cross, 55, was awestruck by the idea that she was in the church with Queen Elizabeth, whom she had admired her entire life. “It was awe-inspiring in the truest sense of the term, and so tragic.”

Frances Thain, 63, was astonished to see the late queen’s four children when she entered the church. She said, “I was just overwhelmed because there was so much to take in.” – Reuters

King Charles leads the royal procession behind the casket of Queen Elizabeth.

Monday in Edinburgh, King Charles led his family in a royal procession behind Queen Elizabeth’s coffin.

The 73-year-old monarch was reunited with his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, in the Scottish capital, where the queen’s coffin was transported from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St Giles’s Cathedral.

All of the queen’s children marched in a line behind the funeral before attending a thanksgiving service with people of all strata of Scottish society.

In automobiles, Camilla, Queen Consort, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, followed the siblings.

Reverend Calum MacLeod talked of the queen’s enduring affection for Scotland during the service.

He stated, “We have gathered to honor the life of our late monarch, whose service to the nation and the world was legendary, as was her passion for Scotland.”

Except for Prince Andrew, who is no longer an active part of the royal family, all of the siblings wore their military uniforms for the event.

Large crowds lined the streets of Edinburgh throughout the procession, and the public will have 24 hours to pay their respects to the queen by viewing her casket before it is transported to London. – Bang Showbiz

King Charles promises to follow his mother’s example of selfless responsibility ‘faithfully’

King Charles has sworn to “faithfully” follow the “model of selfless responsibility” set by the late Queen Elizabeth.

The 73-year-old king was accompanied by his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, as he attended Westminster Hall on Monday to hear Condolence Addresses from the House of Lords and the House of Commons in reaction to the death of his beloved mother on Thursday.

In his address, Charles cited Shakespeare and remarked on the “weight of history” surrounding them, as well as the “physical connections” to his late mother.

He said: “Members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

“I am very appreciative of the Addresses of Condolence from the House of Lords and the House of Commons, which so eloquently capture what our late Sovereign, my dearly departed mother The Queen, meant to us all. According to Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth I was “a model for all living princes.”

“As I stand before you today, I cannot help but feel the weight of history which surrounds us and which reminds us of the crucial Parliamentary traditions to which Members of both Houses dedicate yourselves with such personal dedication for our collective welfare.

“Parliament is the instrument that gives life to our democracy. The creation of this magnificent Hall and the remnants of Medieval ancestors of the office to which I have been appointed are evidence that your traditions are ancient. The Fountain in New Palace Yard commemorates The late Queen’s Silver Jubilee, the Sundial in Old Palace Yard the Golden Jubilee, the magnificent Stained Glass Window in front of me the Diamond Jubilee, and so poignantly yet to be formally unveiled, your most generous gift to Her late Majesty to mark the unprecedented Platinum Jubilee which we celebrated just three months ago.

“The great bell of Big Ben, one of the most potent symbols of our nation in the world and located within the Elizabeth Tower, which was also named for my mother’s Diamond Jubilee, will mark The late Queen’s transit on Wednesday from Buckingham Palace to this Parliament,”

There is a 30-hour wait to pay respects to Queen Elizabeth.

It has been told that mourners will have to wait “overnight” to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth.

The 96-year-old monarch died last Thursday at her Scottish estate Balmoral, and her body will lie in state in Westminster Hall beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The public will be able to file past the coffin 24 hours a day until the morning of her funeral on 19 September, but they may have to wait up to 30 hours to do so.

The government issued the following directive: “Please be aware that there will be a very long line. You will be required to stand for many hours, possibly overnight, with little opportunities to sit while the line moves continuously.”

They also asked the public to consider the length of the wait, which is expected to reach up to five miles long, “before you decide to attend or bring children” and cautioned that there may be road closures and public transportation delays.

King Charles will lead a procession of his relatives

Monday in Edinburgh, King Charles will lead the royal family in a parade behind Queen Elizabeth’s coffin.

The body of the queen, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 96, will be transported from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St Giles’ Cathedral, where her family will join a congregation in a service of thanksgiving for her life, and the future monarch will walk the distance.

The public will have 24 hours to pay their respects at the queen’s coffin before it is transported to London for a period of lying in state prior to her funeral on September 19.

The titles of Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor have not yet altered.

Now that their grandfather, King Charles, is monarch, the children of Prince Harry and Meghan, duchess of Sussex, are permitted to use HRH titles if they so choose.

However, a royal official stated they were awaiting confirmation of the children’s names.

Archie, age 3, and Lilibet, age 15 months, who are sixth and seventh in line to the throne, are referred to as “Master and Miss.”

Prince Charles is crowned king, Prince William is named Prince of Wales, and Prince Andrew inherits the hounds.

A spokeswoman for Prince Andrew announced on Sunday that he and Sarah would care for Muick and Sandy, the pets of Queen Elizabeth.

The dogs were a present from Prince Andrew to keep the queen amused while her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, was in the hospital and she was in Windsor.
