Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro says the strengthening of ties between the Brazil and the United Arab Emirates has created an increasing demand for Brazilian startups

The development of ties between Brazil’s federal government and the United Arab Emirates, according to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, has increased demand for Brazilian startups.

Bolsonaro noted in a series of Tweets on Monday, November 7, that an Emirati programme is looking for startups with projects in the fields of energy, water, design, architecture, transportation, and logistics, as well as environmental research and sustainable economics.

Brazil’s president announced that the Sharjah Advanced Industry Accelerator (SAIA) application period is open till August 16.

He said that among the applicants who registered for free, 20 Brazilian startups were chosen, and they will now compete for a reward awarded to the best projects.

Bolsonaro noted that one approach to lessen the UAE’s reliance on the oil and gas industry is to bring together technology-based businesses.

Jair Bolsonaro added that Brazilian businesses are increasingly being exposed to international markets and came to the conclusion that the Federal Government’s newly proposed legal framework for startups has made it easier and stimulated this sector’s growth inside Brazil in a very positive way.

In December, the Sharjah Advanced Industry Accelerator’s current cycle will come to a close.

The programme got 515 applications from 65 nations the previous year.
