Bernard Adams, the younger brother of Mayor Eric Adams, is resigning from his position as the head of security for the mayor.

This role raised concerns about nepotism when he was initially hired.

His last day working alongside his brother will be sometime next week, as confirmed by City Hall.

In an interview with PIX11 News, Bernard Adams stated that he plans to spend more time with his family in New York after his resignation, as working with the mayor is a 24-hour job.

Last year, Mayor Adams’ selection of his brother for the position led to ethical questions and headlines, prompting the Conflicts of Interest Board to limit his compensation to only $1 a year.

Mayor Adams justified his decision to hire his brother, citing personal security reasons.

Despite the controversy, Bernard Adams, who previously worked as a retired NYPD sergeant, said he ignored the outside noise.

He made $51,665 annually from his police pension and previously worked as an assistant director for parking at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Initially selected as the deputy police commissioner, the Conflicts of Interest Board’s investigation led to a more scaled-down advisory role where Bernard Adams handpicked everyone in the mayor’s security detail. The Post has reached out to the mayor for comment.
