Good news! The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the payment dates for social grants for February 2023, and they begin this week.
As previously reported by The South African website, SASSA said in 2022 that, in response to recipients’ complaints about the previous payment schedule, it had chosen to implement a change.
If the second day of the month falls on a weekend or national holiday, the payment will be made on the next business day, according to SASSA.

The elderly and their accompanying grants are paid first, followed by grants for those with disabilities and children (plus all other grants).
On Thursday, 2 February, older adults and their related funds will be paid, followed by disability grants on Friday, 3 February, and children’s grants – along with all others – on Monday, 6 February.
