Archbishop Ibezim Rededicates Awka Diocesan Mothers Union, Tasks Mothers On Family Responsibilities

The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has challenged mothers to be diligent in carrying out their responsibilities in their families and the society.

Most Reverend Ibezim stated this in a sermon at the Chapel of Redemption UNIZIK Permanent Site, Awka during the Admission, rededication and thanksgiving of the Diocesan Mothers Union.

Religion Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that Most Reverend Ibezim who is also the Bishop, Diocese of Awka, spoke on the theme “God of Impossibilities” and said things that are impossible before men are possible for God only if His children will always call on his name.

He charged  women to learn from the exemplary life of Virgin Mary who lived a life of deep relationship with God.

Most Reverend Ibezim told those newly admitted into Mother’s Union that motherhood is a vocation that demands attention and prayerfulness, reminding them that marriage is a holy sacrament that must be kept sacred.

Addressing the Diocesan Women, the President, Mothers’ Union, Women’s Guild and Girls’ Guild, Province of the Niger and Awka Diocese, Mrs Martha Ibezim said the women each year are enriched with blessings from God during the rededication service so as to do exploits.

Mrs Ibezim restated that the Women Ministry will soon embark on activities lined up for the year, urging the women to abide by the theme of the year as God will reveal Himself more to them this year.

The Chaplain of Awka Diocesan Women Ministry, Reverend Canon David Ohamara, extolled the leadership style of Mrs Ibezim stating that since their emergence as the Chief Shepherd of Awka Diocese, she has used her wealth of knowledge to transform and brought innovations and development to Women Ministry, praying God to bless her accordingly.

In their separate speeches, the newly admitted candidates into Mothers Union,  including Mrs Chinenye Onwuteaka, Ndidiamaka Chidiebere and Uzoma Ejiofor said it was a thing of joy to be admitted into the union where they were exposed to many aspects of building Godly homes and how to make a successful marriage.

The women were led in series of prayers by Most Reverend Ibezim to get them prepared for the task ahead while special thanksgiving climaxed the service.
