1.) Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Exams

Role Purpose

  • To plan, develop and execute campaign content for Exams or IELTS in SSA, raising awareness, engagement with, and conversion of our Exams product portfolio.
  • This role will support the marketing manager and regional head of exams on devising and delivering marketing campaigns for Exams with the ultimate goal of boosting conversion and retention.

Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:

  • The postholder will support the Marketing manager and regional head to define the content vision and joined up campaign content strategy for the Exams or IELTS product portfolio, ensuring its alignment with the British Council brand values and social purpose.
  • Support the creation of and maintain a year-round campaign content marketing strategy for Exams with a focus on SEO friendly content creation.
  • Report on key campaign metrics and analyse data to identify areas for marketing campaign improvement and testing.
  • Manage marketing platform governance
  • Lead on marketing automation within the content team, working closely with the Head of Marketing Enablement in Marketing Operations to feedback on Exams needs and ensure the rollout of automation reflects this
  • Serve as a functional content expert across Exams/IELTS, providing best-in-class guidance to colleagues to help them maximise campaign content.
  • Report on campaign content performance and make and implement recommendations for improvement.

Role Specific Knowledge and Experience
The successful candidate will need to possess the following requirements:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Marketing, Communications or Business or Demonstrable level of equivalent experience
  • Proven experience working in a content/digital marketing role within a large and complex organisation
  • Stakeholder engagement and influencing
  • Experience in optimisation of landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience using conversion rate optimisation tools

Desirable Requirements

  • Postgraduate Degree in a relevant field, e.g. Marketing and Communications and Business Studies or demonstrable level of equivalent experience
  • Experience of marketing technologies, data and lead generation marketing
  • Experience within a global organisation
  • Experience in the Education or Exams industry.

Role Purpose

  • To help drive the growth, reach, impact and reputation of the business by: supporting the delivery of a clear, consistent, innovative, effective and sustainable programme of marketing campaign management activity aligned to wider strategy

  • The post holder will manage and evaluate consistent and replicable multi-channel marketing campaign plans for programme and sector activity.
  • Ensure campaigns are commensurate with project prioritisation, scale and scope and are data-led, strategically aligned and sustainable.
  • Ensures the British Council brand and reputation are preserved and improved, particularly on partner platforms and channels.
  • Provides expert advice, support and challenge on marketing to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensures the successful impact and effectiveness of marketing activity through evidence and evaluation and makes recommendations for improvement based on key audience insights.
  • Applies analytical approaches to identify and assess new opportunities for marketing activity.
  • Ensures marketing strategy is aligned with the business areas and global marketing strategies.
  • Makes appropriate links to issues across the broader organisation, to ensure that the development of marketing activity is based on informed business insight and joined-up thinking.
  • Using agreed corporate systems and processes, where needed, plans and manages the budget for the relevant sector area.
  • Conducts monthly and year-end reporting on progress against plan and deliverables, budget, and management of issues and risks.
  • Develops peer/personal networks within and outside Marketing to enhance own knowledge and expertise.
  • Plans and prioritises own work activities to ensure effective delivery of diverse responsibilities and internal customer deliverables over a monthly to quarterly time horizon.

Essential Requirements
The successful candidate will need to possess the following requirements:

  • A Degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant discipline, or demonstrable equivalent level of experience

Desirable Requirements:

  • Postgraduate or Master’s level Marketing or Business qualification
  • Experience in a global organisation
  • Experience in the cultural, education or charitable sectors
  • Experience in content commissioning

Role Specific Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in the cultural, education or charitable sectors
  • Experienced in the design and delivery of marketing strategies and plans to support programmes/products
  • Experience of conceiving and implementing multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, including paid activity
  • Experience of engaging audiences across a variety of channels and platforms
  • Experience of effective campaign evaluation
