Anambra State Assembly Committee On Housing And Urban Development Visits State International Convention Centre On Oversight, Extols Obiano

Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Housing and Urban Development has said that with the construction of the International Convention Center, Awka, Governor Willie Obiano has justified his mandate.

The committee gave the assertion when it visited the International Convention Center as part of its oversight responsibilities.

House of Assembly correspondent Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the committee, which spoke through its chairman, Honourable Lawrence Ezeudu observed that the International Convention Center is of international standard and houses all the facilities and equipment necessary for international conventions.

The committee appreciated Governor Obiano for executing a gigantic project that has changed the landscape of Awka and will also generate more income to the state. UPSOT

On his part, the commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Architect Micheal Okonkwo, who conducted the committee round the International Convention Center, explained that the project is almost ninety percent completed and has a minimum sitting capacity of ten thousand persons.

Architect Okonkwo further said that Governor Obiano has written his name in the sands of time by building a place of civic pride for Ndi Anambra that can facilitate the development of other sectors. UPSOT

In his remark, a member of the committee, Honourable Emma Nwafor, noted that history shall be kind to Governor Obiano for accomplishing a legacy project that will create massive employment for the youths.

Other members of the committee, including Honourable Pete Ibida and Timothy Ifedioramma lauded the project, noting that Governor Obiano has laid a solid foundation for the incoming administration to take off successfully.
