Anambra Assembly Speaker Okafor Urges Couples To Uphold Unconditional Love, Trust To Overcome Challenges

The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Uchenna Okafor has called on young couples to build their home on tolerance, unconditional love and trust, to overcome numerous marital challenges.

Honourable Okafor made the call in Awka, when he chaired the wedding reception of a staff of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, former Miss Oluchi Kalu and her heartthrob, Mr. Emeka Aguiwu, the Chief Detail to Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano.

Correspondent Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that Honourable Okafor, while noting that marriage is full of ups and downs, pointed out that no marriage survives without tolerance and forgiveness, even as he advised couples to possess the aforementioned virtues to make their homes and society habitable.

In  separate interviews, the member representing Idemmili North and South Federal Constituency, Honourable Obinna Chidoka, the Director News and Current Affairs Department of the ABS, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze, and the Managing Director of Anambra Digital and Entrepreneurship Office, Engineer Ifeanyi Anagor, who congratulated the new couple, noted that spouses should always be ready to support each other and bear each other’s burden, praying God to bless their union.

On their parts, the Anambra State President of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, Prince Emeka Udodeme, one time Transition Committee Chairman for Nnewi South Council Area, Mr. Felix Odumegwu, and Barrister Anthony Agbasielo, urged would be couples to focus more on life after wedding ceremony, as they attributed the major cause of increasing cases of divorce in today’s society to undeserved attention giving to wedding ceremonies, rather than the marriage itself.

Responding, the new couple, Mr. and Mrs. Aguiwu promised to love each other till death do them path, and thanked those that graced their occasion, praying for God’s blessings upon them.

The event featured cutting of wedding cake, dance by the couple, and presentation of gifts by friends and well-wishers, including the management and staff of the ABS.
