Legendary rock band Aerosmith has announced that they will embark on a farewell tour later this year, after five decades together.

Tour Details:

The tour, named “Peace Out,” will take place in the US and Canada, with 40 scheduled dates, starting from September 2 in Philadelphia and concluding on January 26 in Montreal.

The Boston stop, on New Year’s Eve, will be particularly special for the group as it is their hometown.

Band Statement:

The band made the announcement on social media, saying, “After 50 years, 10 world tours and playing for over 100 million fans, it’s time for one last go.

It’s not goodbye, it’s PEACE OUT!” The statement was signed by band members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, and Brad Whitford.

Drummer’s Absence:

Drummer Joey Kramer will not be joining the farewell tour due to his desire to “focus his attention on his family and health” after the band’s Las Vegas residency last year.

Guitarist’s Comments:

Guitarist Joe Perry reflected on the band’s decision to retire from the road, saying, “I think it’s about time.”

He added, “You never know how much longer everybody’s going to be healthy to do this… We did that run in Vegas, which was great.

It was fun, but [we’re] kind of anxious to get back on the road.”

Band’s Achievements:

Since their formation in 1970, Aerosmith has won four Grammy Awards and created a unique blend of rock and hip-hop through their iconic collaboration with Run-DMC on the song “Walk This Way.”

The band has also had a theme park attraction named after them at Disney World in Florida and has performed at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Age Factor:

With all founding band members over 70 years old, their decision to retire from touring is not entirely surprising.

Guitarist Joe Perry acknowledged this factor, saying, “It’s been a while since we’ve actually done a real tour… You never know how much longer everybody’s going to be healthy to do this.”

Analysis and Commentaries:

Aerosmith has been one of the most iconic rock bands of all time, and their decision to retire from touring marks the end of an era in music history.

Their unique sound and collaborations with other artists have been a significant influence on the rock genre and have made them one of the most recognizable bands in the world.

The age factor cannot be ignored, as all founding members are now over 70 years old.
