Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has recently come under scrutiny for allegedly owing her late colleague, Murphy Afolabi, a sum of N250,000.
The revelation was made during the 8-day Fidau Prayer held in honor of Murphy on Monday, 22, 2023.
The burial committee stated that Adunni had borrowed the money from Murphy for a movie production prior to his untimely demise.
They have called on the actress to promptly return the borrowed funds.
Clarification on Murphy Afolabi’s Cause of Death
Yoruba actor Ifeoluwa Gbadegeshin, popularly known as Mr Fresh, has shed light on the circumstances surrounding the passing of his colleague, Murphy Afolabi.
Contrary to earlier speculations, Gbadegeshin revealed that Afolabi did not sustain a head injury in his bathroom as widely believed.
Initial reports had suggested that the actor’s death was the result of an accident in the bathroom.
However, speaking at the funeral, Gbadegeshin clarified that Murphy was in the process of recovering from an illness.
He explained that while about to take a bath, Murphy suddenly vomited and collapsed.
Despite the immediate efforts of those present to assist him, it was unfortunately too late.
Ifeoluwa further disclosed that Murphy was actively involved in preparations for a production and had just finished a phone call with someone responsible for contacting the movie’s cast before his tragic passing.
