A man has been shot by police in Melbourne’s inner north on Monday afternoon with paramedics rushing to the scene

On Monday afternoon, a man was shot by police in Melbourne’s inner north, and paramedics flocked to the scene.

To around 4.40 p.m., emergency personnel arrived at Newlands Road in Coburg North.

Callers to radio station 3AW reported hearing gunfire close to Coburg Lake Reserve.

No one else was hurt in the incident, according to the police.

One caller reported hearing two loud bangs while preparing dinner, followed by three more noises around 20 seconds later.

He claimed that after that, police rushed the area quickly. According to another witness, at least seven police cars were present.
