A 14-year-old boy is being questioned after a 71-year-old woman died in an e-scooter accident

Six days after being hit by an e-scooter ridden by a 14-year-old kid, a senior died in hospital.

Linda Davis, 71, was walking down the street in Rainworth, Nottinghamshire, when she was struck by a scooter on June 2.

Linda, often known as Lou, was rushed to the hospital but died last Wednesday.

At around 3.50 p.m., a crash with a privately owned scooter occurred on Southwell Road East.

‘The rider, a 14-year-old kid, remained at the site and notified emergency services,’ Nottinghamshire Police said in a statement.

‘He has since been interviewed under caution and remains under investigation while enquiries continue.

‘The police investigation is ongoing and officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

‘The victim’s family is being supported by specialist officers.’

Detective Constable Emma Temple said: ‘Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, who have requested privacy at this difficult time.

‘Our enquiries are ongoing and we’d urge anyone who either witnessed this collision, or who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage, to please get in touch with us.’
