2023 Presidency: Sule Lamido Sends A Strong Message To PDP, Reveals What Must Be Avoided

The former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has sent an important message to the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the 2023 presidential election. The Northern leader made it known that PDP must try to avoid a bias selection for the 2023 presidential election.
According to him, PDP’ s presidential choice must not be induced by regional preference. He believes the Peoples Democratic Party shouldn’ t pick their presidential candidate based on region or ethnicity. Lamido made this controversial statement during Tambuwal’ s visit.
Lamido said, ” Our son here is like me (referring to Tambuwal). We have similar and parallel positions in government. I have even held more sensitive positions than him. You are not just a former Governor but a great political mobilizer whose people still respect and follow although you have been out of office for almost seven years now.
I would have no choice but to support you Gov. Tambuwal if he opts to seek PDP’ s ticket to be its flag bearer provided he will be a pan Nigerian that will be just. We can reach out to all Nigerians across the geographic and other divides in our bid to support him.
In other words, Sule Lamido is trying to urge the Peoples Democratic Party not to zone its presidential ticket to the South- East. This statement is definitely not going to be received well by Peter Obi, Nyesom Wike, and other PDP presidential aspirants who are yearning for presidential zoning.
Do you think Sule Lamido’ s advice should be considered by the Peoples Democratic Party?
Considering the current situation of things in the Nigerian political scene, it wouldn’ t be surprising if PDP considers Soludo’ s advice. The All Progressives Congress seemingly has Southern presidential candidates who have a great chance to succeed Buhari in 2023.
With the likes of Tinubu and Osinbajo lining up to clinch APC presidential ticket, it might just be ideal for PDP to give an equal right to all aspirants in their party.
Atiku, Saraki, and other Northern PDP aspirants are definitely in a good position to battle Tinubu, Osinbajo, or any other APC candidate for the presidential ticket.
