17-year-old boy stabbed to death in ‘machete brawl’

After a “mass fight with machetes” broke out in East London, a 17-year-old lad was stabbed to death and another adolescent is in a critical condition.

Following reports of a disturbance involving many people in Bow, Tower Hamlets, emergency services arrived on the scene.

A quarrel about unauthorised guests attending a party reportedly led to the commotion on Lichfield Road, E3, which included over 100 individuals, some of whom were armed with machetes.

Two individuals with stab wounds from the early Sunday morning incident were discovered by police officers who were on the site.

The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance sent out medical personnel. Both men were brought to a hospital in East London.

Despite the best efforts of the medical team, one of the males—who is thought to be 17 years old—was declared dead at 1:54 a.m.

The second man, who is said to be 18 years old, is still in severe condition.

According to GB News, one of the victims had their neck stabbed.

Police have started looking into the incident, but no one has been taken into custody as of yet.

Police officers and forensic teams have been seen on the earlier today cordoned-off route.

Police have been asking anybody with information to get in touch.

Since demand rises on Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to properly combat the plague of knife crime, which has increased over the last year as the UK entered the COVID-19 epidemic, this comes following a string of violent incidents in Lawless London.

Shortly after the stabbing was reported, Mr. Khan posted on social media that violent crime “tears families and communities apart.” Violence has no place in London, and I’m committed to tackle both its many roots and its effects. To make London safer for everyone, prevention and early action are essential.

It is not yet known whether he was in response to the most recent incident in London.

Six alleged murders occurred in London over the course of four days in August, including the 87-year-old veteran charity worker Thomas O’Halloran, who was fatally stabbed while out and about on his mobility scooter.

As competing lawmakers urge the mayor to take more action, several other people have also been shot or stabbed in the city in recent weeks.

Mr. Khan had attempted to justify the high levels of crime in London by attributing it to longer days, school breaks, and summer heatwaves before retracting 24 hours later.

But he subsequently added: “I feel that for the past six years I’ve had one hand tied behind my back because of austerity. One murder is a homicide too many, and one victim of crime is one victim of crime too many.

“We’ve lost 21,000 cops, and the government has said that when our population increases, it will replace them with 20,000 officers.”

Because of the government’s decision, “We’ve seen cutbacks in youth workers, youth services, after-school programmes, and things councils give, and Londoners are caught in the crossfire.”
